Gentry: Hospital mediation inappropriate

Commissioner Ron Gentry lambasted commissioners Pedro Rael and Don Holliday at Wednesday night’s commission meeting for holding a hospital mediation meeting without the county’s contract counsel present and with no representation from hospital supporters.

“I cannot see where this is an appropriate mediation,” Gentry said.

Rael reported that he and Holliday met with five plaintiffs and their attorney at Henrietta’s in Los Lunas on January 15. Valencia! got the scoop and brought you details on January 15.

“What we did was not binding on this commission,” Rael said.

Gentry countered, “If that’s the game we’re going to play,” he will form his own group to mediate in favor of the hospital.
