Los Lunas to clean up arsenic
June 22, 2009
The Los Lunas Village Council last week awarded a contract to RMCI Inc. worth $2,380,871 for an arsenic treatment project.
The bids were all evaluated by the village’s contract engineer, Molzen-Corbin & Associates, village officials said.
When Mayor Robert Vialpando asked for a timetable for completion of the work, Utilities Director Betty Behrend said she hoped to have the arsenic filtering equipment installed on at least two of the village’s four wells by December.
Earlier this month, Belen Consolidated Schools Board of Education approved similar work.
