Peralta finally takes control of fire station

The Valencia County Commission last night corrected its resolution authorizing the transfer of the Peralta fire station from the county to the Town of Peralta, a move that allows Peralta to finally have possession of the fire station and its property.

The resolution had originally left out a key phrase — “personal property” — which the State Board of Finance required the county add to the resolution before approving the transfer.

Valencia County Fire Chief Charles Eaton said Peralta took possession of the fire station as of passage of the amended resolution last night.
