“I have no fencing contract with the folks. They’re entitled to hire anyone they want to build a fence. If they ask me to give them a bid on it, I will give them a bid. But that doesn’t mean that they will accept it.”

Don Holliday, Valencia County commissioner, responding to a county resident who mentioned Holliday’s business, Holliday Fence Co., and its possible future involvement with the proposed metal recyling plant south of Rio Communities.

The facility will be surrounded by new eight-foot chain link fence with slats.

Holliday will vote next week on whether or not to allow the plant to move forward with its plans to build in the Rio Grande Industrial Park.
