Soldiers arrive in Kuwait
August 03, 2009
The New Mexico National Guard 515th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, which was based in Belen while readying itself for deployment to Iraq, has arrived in Kuwait.
“The soldiers are in country. They’re in Kuwait right now where they’re becoming climatized,” National Guard Captain Jason Peete said.
He said the soldiers will spend two or more weeks in Kuwait before heading into northern Iraq.
Peete said the soldier who suffered a heart attack while training in Indiana is now at Fort Knox, Tennessee. He is in “medical holdover” and will be discharged from there.
