The Region 1 meth team secures the scene.

The Los Lunas Police Department has arrested a man alleged to have used a mobile meth lab to brew the dangerous drug.

Los Lunas resident William Warwick, also known as “Iceman,” was arrested after a routine traffic stop led an attentive police officer to discover meth-making paraphernalia.

Officer Chris Blea pulled over a white GMC pickup truck near the Los Lunas Post Office around 2:00am Sunday morning for a minor traffic violation.

After the driver and passengers acted nervously, Blea received voluntary consent to search the vehicle. During the search, Blea found drug paraphernalia and red phosphorous, one of the ingredients for making meth.

The vehicle was further searched after the Los Lunas Police Department obtained a search warrant. More ingredients were discovered, as well as several firearms.
